Magic and alchemy
There was a past era in which great men of science dedicated their lives to transform base metals into gold and to create the elixir of life. Alchemists, in great secret, invested much effort into achieving these goals, experimenting with magic to discover the method for transforming not only the appearance of elements but also their nature. The alchemists searched for what was known as the “philosopher’s stone” a legendary substance believed to be an essential ingredient to achieve these results.
They pursued the creation of “panacea” - the elixir of life - a remedy that would have cured all diseases and prolonged
life indefinitely. The philosopher’s stone was the key to all of this. This ethereal substance (for some in the form of a powder, for others a liquid or stone) was believed to be capable of turning base metals into gold, to be a universal elixir of life and give enlightenment.
Through the centuries the seeds of knowledge sowed by these great thinkers generated the basics of modern chemistry losing that magical trait. Thanks to the efforts of these alchemists man has learnt to mould and transform matter without losing sight of how important it is to strive for ultimate perfection however impossible to achieve.
Unravelling Ariadne's ball of thread through time and space our researchers believe in the alchemist’s intuition and
by pursuing this road have found the philosopher’s stone - Saint-Pierre -.
